Strathalbyn and the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia
Strathalbyn is easily accessible from:
Adelaide via the South Eastern Freeway, route M1 , then from:
- the Stirling B33 exit, straight ahead through Stirling, Aldgate, Mylor, Echunga and Macclesfield;
- the Hahndorf exit, into Hahndorf, then right at Pine Avenue (just past the German Arms Hotel) under the freeway continuing onto route B34 , which joins route B33 at Echunga, then via Macclesfield;
- the freeway exit at Mount Barker B37 , turning right then straight through Mount Barker on the Wellington Road to Wistow, then either turning right into Long Valley Road just through Wistow (the shortest and quickest route) or remaining on the Wellington Road, and;
- the Callington exit, then turning left onto the Callington-Strathalbyn Road.
The quickest and most direct route from Adelaide is via Mount Barker;
Murray Bridge via route M1 , and the Eastern States (through Murray Bridge) via routes A8 , B12 or B55 then M1 , turning left at either the Callington exit (Callington-Strathalbyn Road) or the Mount Barker B37 exit from the South-Eastern Freeway (both provide direct routes).
The quickest and most direct route from the east is via the Callington exit;
Victor Harbor and Goolwa to the south-west, following route B37 ;
The Langhorne Creek wine growing district and the Lakes District via route B45 the Langhorne Creek / Wellington Road, and;
South Australia's South-East via the Princes Highway route B1 , crossing the River Murray by ferry on route B45 at Wellington and continuing along the Langhorne Creek / Wellington Road to Langhorne Creek thence to Strathalbyn.
